Pronounced Bee-Jew, this is a somewhat drier version of the classic cocktail included in the Harry Johnson's Bartender Manual from 1900

Ingredients

  • 1 oz dry Gin
  • 1 oz Chartreuse
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 dash Orange Bitters
  • 1 piece Lemon Peel
Bijou

Directions

  1. Combine in a mixing glass and fill with cracked ice
  2. Stir for 20 seconds
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with a twist of lemon peel over the drink.
